Donation Process

The Donation Process

Step 1 Application

Individuals who are interested in becoming an egg donor are encouraged to fill out an application to apply to our egg donor program. Application contains questionnaires about yourself, your health history, your family, and their health history and takes about 30-45 minutes to finish. You are also required to submit 7-10 recent and childhood pictures to put in your profile. If you qualify for the program, we will create your profile in our data pool and begin the matching process.

Step 2 Matching and Screening

Intended Parents may apply to our program if they choose to use donor eggs and in search of an egg donor. When they decide to work with you, we will schedule you to complete a set of fertility tests to ensure you are qualified to donate. You will also do a series of medical, genetic, and psychological screenings when the match is confirmed.

Step 3 Legal Clearance/Contract

You and the Intended Parents will both sign a contract that outlines your rights and responsibilities throughout the egg donation process. You will go over the contract in details with your representing lawyer. Translating service can be provided upon request.

Step 4 Cycle

During the egg donation cycle, you will take birth control pills to regulate your menstrual period and self-injectable medications daily to encourage immature eggs to grow. You are required to attend monitoring appointments every other day with ultrasound and blood test when you are on injection medication to monitor how the eggs are growing and to adjust medication if necessary.

Step 5 Egg Retrieval

Egg retrieval procedure takes 30-45 minutes to complete. On the day of the retrieval procedure, you will be given anesthesia through IV sedation that puts you to sleep. The Physician will pass a suction-like needle through your vaginal opening to your ovaries to withdraw the eggs. You may go home on the same day of the procedure and return to normal activity the next day.
